Toolbox Design Studio - "The Cube"

THE CUBE

The design concept is based on the geometric decomposition of a cube. We refer to the “Cube” as a habitat unit that can be easily repeated. The architectural style of the design is contemporary, and implements textures, utilizing local building materials such as wood and stone slabs.

The Cube consist of two solid lateral supporting walls, allowing for a more “transparent” front and back façade with the aim of optimizing the panoramic views. The interior of the Cube tries to compel an “open concept” environment by limiting the number of divisions. Good ventilation and illumination play a key role in the interior.

The roof has a butterfly shape which allows run off rain water to meet at the center into a canal that can be later drained to a water tank and a recycling system. This feature together with other building criteria such as the use of certified wood, natural building materials and local labor, the “Cube” stands out to be an attractive modern beach property but with sustainable implementations.
